Hi, I am Margit Takács and this is my story...
Having started my journey in a small town in the Southeastern part of Hungary, I pursued my studies in the capital, Budapest where I became part of an international student organisation, AIESEC. Through my work there and through its program, I embarked on a long trip to New Zealand for 1,5 years, little knowing that it would be the start of my two-decade-long adventure around the world.
Filled with excitement to explore new cultures and ways of living, I then moved to Singapore where I started my corporate growth and worked in different regional roles in the leading logistics firm, DHL for five years .
Later I relocated to Belgium with my company to re-connect with my European roots. Due to the aftermath of the global recession, I was to either move to my company's global headquarters in Germany or move out, a third option came my way.
Instead of immediately taking on the next role within Deutsche Post DHL, I took a 6 months sabbatical leave. I joined a volunteering expedition with Raleigh International in the jungles of Costa Rica & Nicaragua. An eye-opening and daring experience where I learned plenty as I was working with other volunteers to plant trees, build trails, construct a community house, and learn how to survive whilst living in a jungle camp without any of the comfort of the modern world!
When I returned to the corporate life, I continued with my company in Bonn for seven years and took on a jet-setting global role to help leaders across the world strengthen the way they lead changes.
I have been living in Switzerland with my husband and two small daughters, and have been exploring ways to run my own business as a change consultant and work with organisations across many industries in the world.
I would love for us to connect! You can find me on LinkedIn and/or grab a free copy of my audiobook Change Matters.
